2020 Leeds signing ‘knocking on the door’ for England U-21s, yet to make senior debut

Leeds United prospect Cody Drameh is reportedly on the radar for England’s U-21 squad ahead of the September internationals.

According to the Athletic, the 19-year-old defender is ‘knocking on the door’ for the Three Lions at U-21 level.

Drameh is one of Leeds’ most exciting youth talents. And as per the report, the teenager is ‘in the frame’ to make his club debut next season.

Drameh signed from Fulham in the summer of 2020 and has developed well for Leeds at youth level. Last season saw the right-back play 23 games in all competitions for the Whites, scoring one goal and assisting two.

Although the youngster could be called up for England at U-21 level in the coming weeks, it might take some luck for Drameh to make his professional debut for Leeds this season.

Indeed, Luke Ayling is the main right-back at the club, with the defender impressing in the Premier League last season.

Meaning that only an injury or suspension will likely see Drameh play his first minutes for Leeds at senior level.

However, with Drameh catching the eye of coaches at an international level, it could sway Bielsa’s opinion on the youngster and lead to the Argentine coach giving the youngster his debut this season.
