50 Cent set to return to the screen with The Expendables – and fans are excited

We haven’t heard too much from 50 Cent in the music department in recent years, but fans have given him a pass because he’s been busy with his television and film chops, mainly filling the role as an executive producer.

But now it appears that he will step back in front of the camera for a new project.

No stranger to starring in feature films, 50 has appeared in Freelancers, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, Streets of Blood, Fall Apart. Now, the rap and business mogul appears set to join some heavy hitters in what is expected to be a blockbuster flick—The Expendables.

50 shared a story about the apparent film line-up to his Instagram account and people were over the moon.

“50 really on his acting s***, someone wrote.

“This guy is different with the bag !!” another added.

“50 none stop just, none stop work,” a third added about his work grind.

The first The Expendables movie came out more than a decade ago, followed by two others. The three films amassed over $804 million at the box office.

Deadline first reported that the new film was coming, with many original cast members like Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Randy Couture and others on board, as well as 50.

The Hollywood Reporter also noted that the production of  the newest Expendables film will begin in October  and will continue to follow the tale of “veteran mercenaries.”

Statham’s character will reportedly be the center of attention while Fox will play the female lead.

Jason Constantine, the president of acquisitions and co-productions for the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, told the outlet how “much fun” it is to bring the notable actors “for a no-holds-barred action film.”

“The new film will raise the stakes and be the biggest, most badass adventure yet,” Constantine said.

The film is being directed by Scott Waugh from a screenplay by Spenser Cohen and has revisions by Max Adams and John Joseph Connolly.
