A Critic’s Review of General Hospital: Can You Hear Me Now?

When it comes to General Hospital, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the GH week that was.

General Hospital: A Critic’s Week In Review

So, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) is going to throw a party…in a big spooky castle…in the dead of night. Soap 101 tells us that something big must transpire – but what exactly does General Hospital have up its sleeve?

Might Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) make her much-anticipated return? Will Spencer be publicly out as Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and Ava Jerome Cassadine’s (Maura West) stalker? Will Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) finally realize that she deserves better than Spencer, the budding sociopath?

Further GH Musings

* A few articles ago, we pondered the possibility that GH’s Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) might be responsible for Austin Holt’s (Roger Howarth) infiltration of the Q family, and it turns out that we were right…but only partially.

Tracy is at fault, but rather than forge a working partnership with Austin, we learned that she made a monster by interfering with Edward and Jimmy Lee’s reconciliation, and Edward’s decision to include Jimmy Lee and his offspring in his will…Even when she’s thousands of miles away, Tracy can find a way to wreak havoc on her kinfolk.

* One of the few bright spots in the quickly wearing thin Nixon Falls storyline was Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) and his relationship with Phyllis (Joyce Guy)…so of course they had to go and kill him off, and leave Phyllis with nothing better to do than being pandered to by “Mike” (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). Sigh.

* GH really seems to be pushing the Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud)/Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) relationship, don’t they? We will say it again: We want to see Britt paired with JASON, as in JASON Morgan (Steve Burton). Foisting her off on Jax simply will not do.
