Hello, it’s me, Adele.
On Tuesday, the British songstress took to Twitter to finally announce that a new Adele single and album are on the horizon.
Her new song, titled “Easy on Me,” will debut Oct. 15.
The 21-second clip is simple. There are no words spoken. The black-and-white video begins as the 33-year-old singer inserts a cassette tape into her car stereo, looks into the mirror and drives down the road as countless sheets of music blow out of the car and into the wind.
She is, clearly, carefree.
A release date for Adele’s new album, reportedly titled “30,” is still pending.
Her last record, “25,” dropped in 2015. It followed “21” in 2011 and her debut album, “19,” in 2008.
The Grammy Award-winning artist is clearly a fan of numeric album titles and alluded to the fact that an album titled “30” may be in the works upon her 31st birthday. in an Instagram post celebrating her 30th birthday.
“30 tried me so hard but I’m owning it and trying my hardest to lean in to it all,” she wrote in an Instagram post on May 5, 2019. “No matter how long we’re here for life is constant and complicated at times. I’ve changed drastically in the last couple years and I’m still changing and that’s okay.”
She continued: “31 is going to be a big ol’ year and I’m going to spend it all on myself. For the first time in a decade I’m ready to feel the world around me and look up for once. Be kind to yourself people we’re only human, go slow, put your phone down and laugh out loud at every opportunity. Learning to REALLY truly love yourself is it, and I’ve only just realized that that is more than enough. I’ll learn to love you lot eventually
Bunch of fucking savages, 30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you.”
