aespa Teases Upgraded Charisma With ‘Savage’ Teasers

SM Entertainment’s metaverse girl group aespa is showing its incredible charms with its set of teaser images.

Originally released through the girl group’s official social networking sites (SNS), the photos feature all four members Winter, Karina, Ningning, and Giselle who all create a dreamy atmosphere with dramatic angles shaped by their individual personalities.

Pursuing a “psychedelic quest” concept, the teaser images show aespa explore the ideas of hallucination due to “Black Mamba,” a creature that disrupts the connection between the real world members and their virtual world counterparts, the avatar ‘ae,’ and threatens both worlds.

With the extraordinary success of their first two singles “Black Mamba” and “Next Level,” fans around the world are already anticipating the upcoming new album and its promise of continuing the group’s unique storytelling.

As SM Entertainment’s latest fierce girl group, aespa has made history starting from their unprecedented debut with “Black Mamba,” surpassing 100 million views and setting a new record for the fastest debut K-pop video on Youtube to cross the mark.

They immediately debuted on top of singles charts in 95 different countries, including Billboard Global Excl. US at No. 100 just 3 days after being accounted for.

The group is made up of four members – Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning – plus their virtual avatars, which give the group a unique concept that sets them apart from the rest. Each of their virtual counterpart, called “ae,” is modeled after each of the members and can also be recalled into the real world, in the same way the human members can cross into the virtual world.

“Savage,” aespa’s 1st mini-album, is set for release on various music sites at 6 PM KST on October 5. It will contain six tracks of various genres, including the title track of the same name.
