Airline introduces perfect solution for travelers who hate sitting next to kids

Japan Airlines has introduced the perfect solution for any travelers who would rather avoid sitting near children, by highlighting which seats have been booked by under 12s

If you’ve ever experienced a long flight next to a loud, scream and crying child, the chances are it’s an experience you won’t want to repeat.

But, even if you do manage to get seats next to tolerable adults, there’s always a chance you could be stuck with a kicking toddler prodding your back with their feet every five minutes for eight hours straight. It really is pot luck.

Baring all this in mind, however, one airline is changing the game, by introducing the perfect solution for any passengers who would like to be as far away from children as possible, and quite honestly, it’s about time other companies follow suit.

When it comes to pre-booking your seats, most companies offer an aerial view map of the plane, showing which seats have already been taken.

However, Japan Airlines has changed the games, by introducing a little icon which shows passengers which seats have been booked by travellers who are below the age of 12 – meaning you can book the furthest seat away – if you so wish.

The website explains: “Passengers travelling with children between eight days and two years old who select their seats on the Japan Airlines website will have a child icon displayed on their seats on the seat selection screen. This lets other passengers know a child may be sitting there.”

However, it does note that the child icon won’t apply for any seats booked through third-party websites, which means there’s always going to be a risk of being stuck next to a crier. Still, the odds are definitely better!
