Alan Cumming is a Pro on delivering the Perfect Diss

Don’t cross Alan Cumming.

The always entertaining actor participated in a Q&A of “Life’s Most Pressing Questions” for Graydon Carter’s Air Mail, in which he divulged his most cutting insults.

“I like it when they’re true as well as accurate,” he said of the perfect diss. “Like ‘You are a disgrace’ or ‘You are unprofessional and disrespectful.’ I like when you don’t have to be mean, but are so much more hurtful because it is actually true.”

He added that, “Conversely, I really don’t like when someone says something true like ‘You are a wanker’ as an insult when, of course, we all are. I am, at least once daily.”

Along similar lines, he added that his best piece of advice is: “Don’t f–k the talent.”

Cumming also opined on 45 other “pressing” topics — including the best names he’s ever come across.

“There was a boy at my school called Roland Butter,” recalled “The Good Wife” star. “Also, my friend once served someone in a restaurant called Cameron MacSporran-Bridie,” he said, admitting, “You maybe need to be Scottish to fully appreciate the magnitude of that one.”

Cumming’s new book, “Baggage: Tales from a Fully Packed Life,” is out Oct. 26 from Dey Street Books.

The star candidly told Page Six at the 2021 Hudson River Park Gala this week that he prefers wearing jock straps rather than underwear: “I need support. I like to feel supported — everything lifted up and out of the way,” he said. “I think it’s like a Wonderbra … but it’s for the junk.”

However, he also revealed at the upscale event that he’d decided to go commando for the night.
