Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham could be tempted by a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, according to The Telegraph.

What’s the story?

The Telegraph have reported that Arsenal are ‘serious’ about signing Abraham from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

The striker was a boyhood Arsenal fan, according to the report, which has added that a move to the Emirates Stadium ‘would appear to be an attractive proposition’.

However, the Gunners are likely to have to sell players to fund a permanent deal for the 23-year-old, described as “unbelievable” by Manchester City attacking midfielder Jack Grealish during an Instagram Q&A last year when asked about the England international striker.

Tammy Abraham to Arsenal?

Chelsea are reportedly trying to sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan this summer.

If a deal goes through, then it would push Abraham further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Remember, the 23-year-old made just 12 starts in the Premier League and only three starts in the Champions League for the Blues last season.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not getting any younger, while his Arsenal teammate and fellow striker, Alexandre Lacazette, is out of contract next summer.

A move to Arsenal could see Abraham – who “has everything” as a striker, according to former West Ham United winger Trevor Sinclair on talkSPORT (8:41am, July 26, 2021) – get regular playing time.

The former Aston Villa loanee scored 15 goals and gave three assists in the Premier League for Chelsea in 2019-20.
