Arsenal receive boost for Odegaard; Ancelotti ‘prefers’ ace with six goals in three years

Arsenal have recieved a boost in their pursuit of Martin Odegaard with Isco ahead in the midfield pecking order at Real Madrid.

According to AS, Carlo Ancelotti ‘prefers’ Isco and Luka Modric over Odegaard. The midfielder has failed to make much of an impression under the Italian manager this summer.

Moreover, Mikel Arteta is eager to bring Odegaard back to Arsenal on a permanent deal. As per AS, the Gunners boss ‘will do everything possible’ to sign the Norwegian midfielder this window.

Ancelotti valuing Isco higher than Arsenal target Odegaard is an interesting development at Real Madrid. After all, the former Malaga star has only scored six goals in all competitions in the past three years for the La Liga giants.

Indeed, with the 29-year-old continuously linked with a move away from Madrid, there is a good chance that Odegaard could leave the Spanish capital again this window if Isco is preferred by Ancelotti.

And for Arsenal, they will be hoping they can sign Odegaard this summer on a permanent deal.

Indeed, according to the Evening Standard, an attacking midfielder is a priority for the north London side with three weeks of the window left to conduct business.

And Odegaard could be the perfect option for Arsenal. Compared to James Maddison, the Norwegian international will like cost less than the £60m Leicester are demanding for the English playmaker.
