Ellen DeGeneres has taken yet another hit this year, following investigations that revealed that she was thriving in a toxic workplace, where her staff where constantly subjected to physical and emotional abuse by executive producers.
According to reports, the American comedian, who is preparing to air the last season of “The Ellen” show, has lost one of her most formidable supporters. Per a report from TV Blackbox, TES has been boycotted by its primary airing network, Channel Nine.
The Australian channel noted that following reports of DeGeneres’ overlooking harsh treatments against her workers, they have decided to end her contract, and wished her all the best in future endeavors. This announcement which was revealed in the late hours of Friday, August 13, 2021 went viral on social media platforms, and provoked reactions from fans and non-fans of the show.

The Nine Network, commonly referred to as Channel Nine, is a popular Australian commercial free-ti-air television network that helps to broadcast ranges of shows from talk shows to news.
The network’s broadcast areas include; Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Darwine, Adelaide, Perth, Northern NSW, and the Gold Coast. The network whose slogan is; ‘We Are The One,’ boycotted DeGeneres recently for treating her workers with disdain.
Channel Nine handled the production of DeGeneres’ show since 2013, and when reports of the show’s final season was revealed, the network decided that it was time to take a step back permanently. This decision comes several months after the host went through series of backlash online, and lost almost half of her viewers.

In May 2021, DeGeneres official announced that she would stop airing her daytime talk show after its 19th season. The new season which was supposed to wrap up in 2022, would feature discussions about DeGeneres’ life as a host, and the circumstances that enforced her decision to bring it all to an end.
The Hollywood Reporter mentioned that the decision to end the show has been brewing behind the scenes for a long time, however, recent events and hits that the show took sped everything up. DeGeneres’ also told the publication that another reason for ending the show, stemmed from the fact that she wants to open to new challenges.
“When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged — and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” she said.
In 2018, DeGeneres wrote on her New York Times profile that her wife Portia de Rossi, motivated her to bring the show to an end, and focus on other things in her life, however, the comedian confessed that always had a problem with timing.
