Channel Nine Says Goodbye To Ellen

The Nine Network, commonly referred to as Channel Nine, is a popular Australian commercial free-ti-air television network that helps to broadcast ranges of shows from talk shows to news.

The network’s broadcast areas include; Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Darwine, Adelaide, Perth, Northern NSW, and the Gold Coast. The network whose slogan is; ‘We Are The One,’ boycotted DeGeneres recently for treating her workers with disdain.

Channel Nine handled the production of DeGeneres’ show since 2013, and when reports of the show’s final season was revealed, the network decided that it was time to take a step back permanently. This decision comes several months after the host went through series of backlash online, and lost almost half of her viewers.

Since the network announced their intentions to leave, DeGeneres has not made any comments, and fans are wondering if she will push forward with another network or simply bring the show to an abrupt end. Keep your fingers crossed on this one.

Ellen DeGeneres’ Announcement

In May 2021, DeGeneres official announced that she would stop airing her daytime talk show after its 19th season. The new season which was supposed to wrap up in 2022, would feature discussions about DeGeneres’ life as a host, and the circumstances that enforced her decision to bring it all to an end.

The Hollywood Reporter mentioned that the decision to end the show has been brewing behind the scenes for a long time, however, recent events and hits that the show took sped everything up. DeGeneres’ also told the publication that another reason for ending the show, stemmed from the fact that she wants to open to new challenges.

“When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged — and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” she said.

In 2018, DeGeneres wrote on her New York Times profile that her wife Portia de Rossi, motivated her to bring the show to an end, and focus on other things in her life, however, the comedian confessed that always had a problem with timing.

A Major Influence On Ellen Degeneres

Every television show host wants to end his or her show in an incredible way that will be etched in the memories of viewers all over the world. It’s quite possible that DeGeneres did not feel like it was time for her show to come to an end, and that’s why she put it off for so long.

However, fans are holding on to the fact that she decided to end the show after a major hiccup within her work place. It all began in June 2020, when ten former and one present worker of “The Ellen” show held interviews, where they gave graphic and detailed descriptions of how the comedian treated her staff.

Three of the show’s executive producers were named as bullies during the interviews, and fans called for them to be fired immediately. After investigations were carried out, these producers, Mary Connelly, Ed Galvin, and Andy Lassner, were found guilty and stripped of their positions in the company.

DeGeneres on the other hand took hits on social media after rendering a tone-deaf apology for her organization’s act, which in every way reflected on her.

Will She Bounce Back?

The last season of “The Ellen” show means a lot to DeGeneres, and despite being cut off from her airing network, it’s unlikely that the television personality will give up easily.

In the past few months, she has gone from bad to worse situations, that did not deter her from following through with her decision to film the last season of her show.

Aside from hosting her talk show, DeGeneres is a recognized comedian, actress, writer, and producers. Although she was well known for her television presence, she is also thriving in other aspects of her life. We wish the television host all the best, and hopes she recovers from this setback.
