BARRY Morphew, a suspect in the murder of his wide Suzanne, has walked out of jail after posting $500K in cash bail the same day authorities released a photo of the missing mom’s abandoned bike.
He was pictured on Monday as he exited the Chaffee County Probation Department in Colorado with his and Suzanne’s two daughters Mallory and Macy.
Their mother, 49-year-old Suzanne, has been missing since Mother’s Day 2020, when she went out on a bike ride and never came back home.
Morphew will have to wear an ankle monitor as he awaits trial for murder and evidence tampering.
While he is required to stay in the Chaffee County area as he awaits trial, he is allowed to have contact with his two daughters.
The trial is expected to begin in May 2022.
On Monday Colorado police also released details on secretly recorded notes and recordings Suzanne kept in her phone that documented the “abuse” her husband allegedly subjected her to.
This new information includes a text from Suzanne to Barry sent four days before she went missing. The text read: “I’m done. I could care less what you’re up to and have been up to for years. We just need to figure this out civilly.”
The bombshell affidavit reveals that Morphew had told authorities his marriage was “perfect,” when in reality Suzanne had been having a two-year affair with high school friend Jeff Libler, an Indiana married father of six.
According to the document By September 2019 Morphew had been “taking clear steps to determine if Suzanne was having an affair” including “stalking her at their own residence.”
On May 8 2020, two days before she went missing, Suzanne recorded in her “notes” on her phone that Morphew accused her of “having a boyfriend” on May 6.
Suzanne’s last proof of life came on May on May 8 at 2pm when she sent Jeff Libler a selfie.
The affidavit also accuses Morphew “knowingly destroyed evidence that his relationship with Suzanne was deteriorating and that he was involved in her disappearance and homicide.”
While Suzanne’s body has not been found, authorities have determined that she is dead because she has not used credit cards or any of her identity cards since she went missing more than a year ago.
Authorities say they have uncovered evidence such as scratches on Morphew’s hands and arms after Suzanne’s disappearance, a bullet found in the couple’s home, a damaged door and a tranquilizer dart in the home’s dryer.
Morphew, 53, now faces charges of first-degree murder and evidence tampering among others.
