BBC weatherman Tomasz Schafernaker looks VERY different after finally cutting his hair.
Tomasz – was voted the UK’s favourite weatherman in 2017 – divided viewers with his longer locks during lockdown and angered bosses with his shaggy ‘do.
Some likened it to a 1970s porn star’s bouffant hair, but despite the lifting of restrictions in April allowing barbers to re-open, Tomasz insisted he was keeping his unkempt style.
However, on Wednesday, the 42-year-old shocked fans by revealing he’d finally had the chop, debuting a smart short barnet on Twitter.
In the picture, Tomasz stood side on to show off the shaved sides and slightly longer-yet-styled locks on the top.
He captioned the snap: “I fancied another change… the 70s are gone.”
Tomasz was previously asked online what he planned to do about his long locks after hairdressers reopened.
He replied: “Keeping – it’ll need a little styling but that’s it” before adding: “My choice.”
His fans were delighted with his new look, with one writing on Twitter: “Thank god Thomas. The wild bush look was hideous mate. Made you look so much older. Short and tidy and styled fabulously. Your so more handsomer now. Love you always.”
Another added: “Tomasz Schafernaker back in the building. Personally the farah faucet look did suit you but this is lovely.”
A third tweeted: “Good bye shaggy! Hello what shall we call this one? City boy? Boy band? Or just a blocky haircut? looking good Mr Schafernaker.”
Others praised him for changing his look when he wanted and not because of any pressure from fans or BBC bosses.
One fan wrote: “You always look great Tomasz but im glad you’ve had a change because you wanted to and not because of pressure from other people. You have to be happy in your own skin and not how you are viewed by others. Have a lovely day x.”
Another added: “How you choose to appear is obviously your personal choice. I liked the longer hair. But I like the new look too. I guess you just look good whichever way you choose.”
