Britney Spears Announces Engagement To Beau Sam Asghari

The Princess of Pop is engaged!

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari both rushed to Instagram on Sunday to post engagement selfies and share the happy news with fans and friends.

The “Baby, One More Time” singer announced the exciting update with an adorable video of herself and her new fiancé as she proudly showed off the huge rock on that special finger, in a post captioned “I can’t f—ing believe it 💍💍💍💍💍💍❣️!!!!!!”

In one of the clips, Asghari can be heard saying, “Look at that. You like it?” to which the popstar let out an excited little scream of “yes!”

The hunky male model made his own announcement on Instagram in a post that featured a sweet snap of the happy couple kissing as the “If You Seek Amy” singer held out her ring finger to the camera to show off that new beautiful bling!

Asghari’s manager, Brandon Cohen, gave a statement on the upcoming nuptials to PEOPLE. “The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them.”

He also added that the engagement ring was designed by New York City jeweler Roman Malayev who he said “couldn’t be happier to be involved and make this one-of-a-kind ring.”

This is only a little over a week after the personal trainer was spotted shopping at Cartier in Beverly Hills on Thursday, September 2, and it looks like Spears’ husband-to-be has great taste!

According to an insider, the engagement has been a long time coming, and the superstar songstress — who previously claimed in court that she was not allowed to get married under her oppressive conservatorship —has wanted to tie the knot with her boyfriend for a quite a while now.

“She’s eager to move on and begin a new life with Sam — and have a baby.” The insider dished. “She thinks Sam will be a wonderful husband because he’s already a very loving and caring boyfriend, and she knows he’ll be a great dad.”
