Cristiano Ronaldo plastered on side of Old Trafford – but fans notice absent star

Cristiano Ronaldo has already been advertised all over Old Trafford ahead of his second Manchester United debut.

However, there was a glaring omission on the front of the stadium, that also included Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Juan Mata and Mason Greenwood.

It comes as United prepare to take on Newcastle at home this weekend with a full house expected.

Fans are desperate to get a glimpse of Ronaldo ahead of his grand return to the club – 12 years after leaving for Real Madrid.

The Portugal international comes back as a certified legend in the game, having won every trophy as well as five Ballon d’Ors with countless records.

Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to United

The club have been keen to make the most of the occasion and have draped Old Trafford with pictures of the star.

Previously, the other signings Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane were donned on the stadium front along with poster boy Bruno Fernandes.

But the midfielder has had to make way for his compatriot, who is now the biggest figure on the ground.

However, fans did not miss one glaring omission in the form of Paul Pogba, who has been linked with a move away.

One fan asked: “Where’s Pogba?”

Is Pogba on his way out? Comment below

While another replied: “I think it’s clear he’s going to leave on a free next summer window, he’s one of our biggest players and he’s nowhere on the front of Old Trafford… intentions made very clear in my opinion for United not to have him also included.”

And another said: “Pogba one is odd Cos at the time he’s our most marketable asset. We advertise the s*** out of him. But here we don’t.”

“No Pogba? He deserve to leave imo,” this supporter tweeted.

A fifth quipped: “Pogba is going next year then…”

While this fan said: “He hasn’t pend a new deal so I feel they purposefully didn’t put his image there.”
