Daughters surprise mum with Louboutins – and she immediately brands them ‘awful’

A mum celebrating her 50th birthday was filmed as she opened a present containing a pair of Louboutins – and the clip has gone viral after she made no attempt to hide her true feelings

The mum’s excitement instantly evaporated

A mum has been heaped with praise for her “brutally honest” reaction after her daughters surprised her with a pair of Louboutins – and she told them exactly what she thought of them.

TikTok user Cairoaibangbee posted a video of the family celebrating their mum’s 50th birthday with a table full of food as she says: “I feel very spoilt, it’s beautiful. Thank you. It feels really special, you’ve made it so special.”

They then hand her a box to open as she cuts into it to find it branded with Net-a-Porter, as she remarks the retailer is “expensive” and repeats that her children have made her feel “so special” on her milestone birthday.

She then screams as she unties the box before shouting “oh my god, Louboutins”, removing the signature red bag to reveal the shoes beneath – when the mood suddenly changes.

Lifting the shoes out of the box, her face drops and she simply says “no”, before her daughter asks: “You don’t like them mum?”, and she repeats her answer.

Her children reassure her that they have a gift receipt before she adds that she thinks the shoes are “awful” and apologises to her daughters for hating them.

The caption reads: “Normalise being honest with your gift givers” and the video has been viewed almost six million times, racking up 18,000 comments.

Some people were left in stitches by the exchange, as one wrote: “She be messing with my emotions. Yaaayyy… no.”

A second said: “Loool she didn’t even try and pretend. She straight up said ‘no’.”

And others praised her for saying exactly what she felt, as another commented: “I actually love that she was totally honest with you! She was so sweet about the whole experience.”

Someone else replied: “I would always rather someone tell me if they don’t like it. We can fix that! Let’s not waste the money!”

And a third added: “I love this. You can tell how much love and respect there is between this family.”
