Dave Bautista Updates: Scarlett Johansson has filed a lawsuit against the Walt Disney Company, which owns Marvel, to release “Black Widow” simultaneously in both Theater and Disney +. To which Dave Baustia has come with a reply. He wrote, “Told em they should’ve made a #Drax movie but noooooo!”
More about Scarlett Johansson‘s lawsuit- Scarlett filed a lawsuit because she was told that there would be theatrically released first. But the movie was released on theatre as well as on the OTT platform, Disney +.
According to the contract, the movie will first have a theatre release and then on Disney +. As a result, Scarlett has filed a lawsuit for breaching her contract. The theater release was important because her salary will depend on the box office collection of the movie. She also argued that the simultaneous release had affected the box office collection in theaters. The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday in the Los Angeles Supreme Court.
What Dave Bautista Shared About Lawsuit Against Disney?
The Wall street journal reported, “Disney intentionally induced Marvel’s breach of the agreement, without justification, to prevent Ms. Johansson from realizing the full benefit of her bargain with Marvel.”
While Disney has also reacted, stated that “There is no merit whatsoever to this filing. The lawsuit is unfortunate and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Scarlett Johansson played a leading role in “Black Widow.” She portrayed Natasha Romanoff in the movie and did an excellent job. She has done well in all Marvel movies from Iron Man 2, released in 2010.
Dave Bautista, who is portraying Drax as the destroyer in “The Guardians of Galaxy” series, has come with a response.
