The saying goes that a dog is a man’s best friend, yet one pooch has left people terrified.

The ‘demon dog’ went viral after being photographed giving its neighbours the ‘death stare’ from behind a fence.

Peeping over the fence, it’s understandable why people were left feeling scared – because, to be honest, it looks terrifying.

The pooch was compared to Pennywise the Clown from Stephen King novel I.T after going viral on Twitter, Plymouth Live reported.

Many were focused on the canine’s intense scare, as people joked it looked like it had a plan to murder.

Sharing the photo, Twitter user @thegallowboob wrote: “Never been more scared of a dog.”

One person joked: “That dog is plotting how to make your death look like a tragedy while horrifying the entire neighbourhood just to send a message.

“It doesn’t want petted, just a whole movie worth of revenge.”

The animal has even drawn comparisons to Michael Jackson in ‘Thriller’ and Frank Gallagher.

Another added: “I am laughing out loud but genuinely frightened.”

A third commented: “This thing looks like it crawled straight outta Pet Cemetary.”

“They better cast him in that Cujo remake,” joked another, referring to a Stephen King novel in which a rabid dog repeatedly attacks a family.
