Dynasty and All My Children Star Michael Nader Passes Away At 76

All My Children star Michael Nader has passed away with his wife and dog by his side at the age of 76 after a battle with cancer.

Nader’s wife released the following statement to Michael Fairman TV:

“With heavy heart, I’m sharing the news of the passing of my beloved, Michael,” Nader’s wife Jodi Lister wrote. “We had 18 wonderful years together with the many dogs we fostered and adopted. Recently, Michael was so thrilled to reconnect with his friends from the cast of Dynasty during Emma Samms virtual event to help raise funds for Long-Covid research. He was a beautiful and fascinating man with many talents and skills. I will miss him forever.”

Michael Nader Spent A Career In The Soap World

The actor rose to soap opera stardom in the 1980s on the primetime soap Dynasty as Dex Dexter, a long-time love interest of Joan Collins’s Alexis Carrington. He remained with Dynasty through much of the decade until the show left the airwaves in 1989. Soon after, he appeared opposite Vincent Irizarry in the Jackie Collins mini-series Lucky Chances before landing the role that made him as much of a star to daytime soap fans as he was to primetime soap fans.

All My Children’s Dimitri Marrick Becomes A Signature Role

In 1991, Nader began playing Dimitri Marrick on All My Children, a member of Hungarian royalty who decided to take up residence in Pine Valley, PA. When Dimitri was paired with Susan Lucci’s Erica Kane, a soap supercouple was born and Nader achieved soap leading man status. He again appeared with Lucci in the primetime made-for-TV movie Lady Mobster. In his later years, Nader also had guest-starring roles on NCIS and Cold Case.

In 2013, the actor brought Dimitri Marrick back to life on the streamed All My Children reboot, which could be seen on Hulu and OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network. He wasn’t with Erica Kane this time but instead was paired with her longtime rival Brooke English (Julia Barr). Dimitri’s name was also recently invoked on General Hospital when Alex Marrick, his former wife, sent a video to Peter August (Wes Ramsey) telling him she was his mother.

Michael Nader is survived by wife, Jodi, daughter, Lindsay, and granddaughter, Juniper.
