Fast food worker explains why you should always order ‘light ice’ with your drinks

A teenager that works for a fast-food chain in the US has gone viral after sharing the important reason why getting ice with a large drink is a complete and utter waste of money

Dunkin’ Donuts employee reveals how much space ice takes up in drinks

Every now and then, we love nothing more than heading down to our favourite fast food place and treating ourselves to a large, sugary drink.

Be it a coffee or some sort of soda, some days there’s nothing better than that first sip of cold goodness.

But if you’ve been getting your drinks with a load of ice in, it seems like you’ve been making a big error.

A fast-food worker has recently gone viral on social media after exposing how adding ice to large drinks could mean that you actually end up with a lot less liquid in your cup.

Thus, you could be wasting money, when you could have gotten the same amount of drink in a smaller size.

In a post on TikTok, a 19-year-old named Jason, who claims to work at Dunkin’ Donuts in the US, shared a look at how much drink is really in a large size cup when the cup is also full of ice.

Holding the ice in the cup with a spoon, he transferred the drink into another large cup and it just barely filled it up halfway – despite looking full in the original cup.

He captioned the post writing: “Since people wanna see what you get out of a large.”

In another video, he shows how you can fit an entire medium drink into a large cup and make it appear full by adding ice to top the drink up.

Despite what viewers can clearly see in the video about the drink sizes and ice, Jason claims it “ain’t like that” really.

He adds that it’s “funny how easy you can finesse.”

The fast-food employee goes on to recommend that customers order “light ice” with their drinks instead of the regular amount given.

More than 12 million people have watched Jason’s drink videos, with the first one garnering over 547,000 likes.

Thousands also took the time to share their thoughts, with one replying: “That’s why I say no ice because one it takes up space and two it waters the drink down.”

Another said: “I’mma get no ice and ask for an ice cup.”

A third proclaimed: “You’re saving my life with this one my friend, thank you!!!”

Someone else added: “I’ll have a large with NO ICE PLEASE! Thank you!!”
