Four-year-old leaves dad red-faced by writing toilet note on bill at restaurant

A little boy who visited the Woodland Creatures bar and restaurant in Edinburgh with his family left a cheeky message on the bill to let them know why his dad wasn’t at the table

A young family had visited Woodland Creatures in Edinburgh for a roast

A four-year-old boy left restaurant staff in hysterics after giving them far too much detail about his dad’s bathroom activities.

The boy had visited the Woodland Creatures bar and restaurant in Leith, Edinburgh, with his family, and decided to leave a rude note on the bill when it came time to pay.

The family had been tucking into vegan roast dinners before asking to pay up, and the dad popped to the toilets before they left, Edinburgh Live reports.

But when staff went to collect the bill from the table, they saw the little diner had handwritten a note on the receipt in pencil to let them know: ‘Dads doing a jobby’.

The staff said the note was “surprisingly legible”

Server Carlos told Edinburgh Live: “There was a young family in for Sunday Roasts and Kids Eat Free.

“I served them and found the surprisingly legible note from the young boy just as they were leaving.

“Daddy was in the bathroom just before they left.”

A picture of the bill was shared on social media, with one tagging a friend and commenting: “Doing this to you next time we’re out.”

Another joked: “The only sensible action after three vegan roasts.”

The cheeky tot isn’t the only one to have left a note for restaurant staff recently, after a little girl named Georgie loved her meal so much during a visit to Castello Italian restaurant in Yeovil that she wanted to let them know.

Penning a message on a napkin, she wrote: “To the waitresses and waiters, thank you for being so lovely and giving us our yummy food!

“I loved my sphaggeti [sic] (I think that’s how you spell it), you are very nice and you definitely get a 5-star rating from me! Lots of love, Georgie (the short blonde girl).”

She went on to thank them for the lollypop they had given her, and added an arrow toward some money her mum left on the table and said: “This is the tip.”
