Gary Lineker has reacted on Twitter to Tottenham Hotspur’s shock move for Lautaro Martinez.
It was reported out of absolutely nowhere this morning that Spurs had agreed a £60 million fee with Inter Milan to sign the Argentine striker, according to The Times.
Tottenham might well need a new number nine this summer, amid the uncertainty regarding Harry Kane’s future in North London.
Here’s how Lineker reacted to the report today:

Logically you would think that the Lilywhites are preparing for the prospect of losing Kane, assuming this move for Martinez is true.
But that isn’t necessarily the case.
We know that new Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo will be playing a two-pronged attack, meaning there is room for the Manchester City-linked marksman and another out-and-out striker in the Portuguese coach’s first XI.
In an ideal scenario, Nuno could potentially have Kane and Martinez up front for Spurs this season, which is mouth-watering prospect it has to be said.
Between them, the duo scored 52 goals and set up 28 in all competitions for Tottenham and Inter last season.
