Grimes admits to posing for now-viral Karl Marx pictures

It’s Grimes’ “Realiti” — we’re just living in it.

Elon Musk’s quirky pop-star ex has admitted to deliberately posing for now-viral photos of her thumbing through “The Communist Manifesto” — to get the most outlandish headlines possible.

“Paparazzi followed me 2 a shoot so I tried 2 think what I could do that would yield the most onion-ish possible headline,” the singer tweeted Sunday, referring to “The Onion,” which famously produces over-the-top fake news for laughs.

“And it worked haha,” she wrote, sharing The Post’s straight-take headline to a report expressing clear incredulity at what she now admits was a mocked-up moment.

“My friend just had the book and the photogs were outside,” she tweeted of Karl Marx’s anti-capitalistic tome.

The images went viral because it was the first time Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, had been seen since confirming she’d “semi-separated” from Musk, who remains the world’s richest man with a $199.8 million fortune, according to Forbes.

In the photos, Grimes — mother to the Space-X mogul’s youngest child, son X Æ A-Xii — keeps a studious face while pretending to examine the book while walking, sitting on the ground and leaning against a street sign.

“This whole thing is so funny,” Grimes, 33, told her 1.2 million followers, while admitting, “I think my publicist is stressed.”

“I should probably stop impulsively doing controversial things … I’ll prob regret this later hahaha,” she tweeted.

“I taught myself to stop checking if other ppl think I’m socially acceptable a long time ago,” she tweeted later.

“Worrying about being cringe is the enemy of art, failure tolerance is essential for creativity. Deciding not to be mad at ppl enjoying life is ok,” she wrote.

While many followers hailed her mischievous prank, others asked why
is “reading Marx a controversial thing.”

“Because they’re wearing a $1000+ dress,” one person replied, while others noted her appearance at the recent Met Gala, a night celebrating the elite and their wealth.
