When Sonny Corinthos had no memory of being General Hospital’s most moral, loving mobster, and thought he was a moral, loving non-mobster named Mike, he thought Nina Reeves was just aces.
General Hospital Polling
However, once he found out that she lied to him and kept him from the true love of his life, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), and the various children they’ve collected throughout Port Charles over the years, his warm feelings changed. How does he feel about her now? What almost 6,000 fans think about the situation:
GH: The Hate You Give
Almost half of you, 49%, are convinced that Sonny (Maurice Benard) could do nothing else but hate the woman who lied to him. Sonny is a very truthful mobster. He only keeps secrets when they’re for the good of his family. Nina lied for her own good. Because, like all women, she wanted Sonny for herself. Sonny can understand the impulse. But he can’t forgive – or even process – that level of selfishness.
Nina (Cynthia Watros) saw a side to Sonny no one else has before, 39% of the General Hospital audience counters. When he was Mike, he became a kinder, gentler version of the man who built his empire by killing people. The right people, but killing people nonetheless. Sonny became a version of the man he might have been, and the fact that Nina loved that part of him keeps drawing Sonny to her, no matter what Carly says or does.
Only 12% of the GH viewers actually believe that Sonny is in love with Nina. Feelings like that don’t just go away, they’re still there. Sonny didn’t forget Nina the way he earlier forgot Carly. Sonny has both memories now – and it would make sense that his heart would be torn in two. Nina is his most recent love. And she isn’t married to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).
