How to make a copycat McDonald’s egg McMuffin

McDONALD’S breakfast doesn’t last all day – but your craving for a egg McMuffin won’t always abide by the Macca’s menu times.

So what do you do when you want an all-day McBreakfast? You have to make it yourself of course.

All you need for your home McMuffin

  • English muffin
  • Egg
  • Cheese
  • Bacon
  • Butter
  • Salt and Pepper

In order to whip up a wonderful McMuffin you only need a few ingredients – an English muffin, Egg, Cheese, Bacon, butter and salt and pepper.

First off you need to grab your English muffin – slice it in half and pop that puppy in the toaster.

Second, in a frying pan, cook up your bacon with a touch of butter – you don’t want to cook till crispy, it’s more of a floppy, juicy rasher that you’re looking for if you want peak authenticity.

Next up – butter that muffin and lay it on a plate and pile on the fried bacon.

Then, in the same pan, add a touch more butter, and pop an egg-ring. The egg ring is what gives your fried egg the signature McCircular shape.

Fry up that egg on one side and use a fork to break the yolk before flipping it over to fry the other side.

Once it’s cook, pop the egg on top of the bacon.

Next up, you need to add your cheese – not your standard cheddar – we’re talking the orange American sliced cheese that needs to peeled off a sheet of plastic.

Add this to the stack and finish it off with the top of the muffin.

And there you have it – your homemade McMuffin. You can even wrap it in baking paper for the full McXperience.
