I was terrified I’d never orgasm again after ‘over-cooking’ my privates with my vibrator

AS someone who reviews sex toys for a living, Lacey-Jade Christie knew when she reached for her favourite vibrator that an earth-shattering orgasm was just mere minutes away.

After all, the clitoral-stimulating Womanizer Pro had never failed her before.

In a personal essay for MamaMia, the 32-year-old content creator, from Melbourne, Australia, explained how she has four go-to sex toys in her collection along with an array of glass and silicone dildos.

But earlier this month, Lacey was left shaken to her core when her foolproof vibrator failed to deliver.

She wrote: “I was SO CLOSE. I was right on the edge of that cliff and then my hand slipped, and when I tell you I almost threw my favourite vibrator at the wall I’m not kidding.”

Determined not to give up, Lacey persevered with the clitoral-sucking toy on its highest setting.

A quarter of an hour later, the sexpert admitted defeat when her privates were left feeling completely numb from the workout – which she described as a “sad and frustrating turn of events”.

As the sex toy had only ever delivered “mind-blowing” orgasms before, Lacey understandably started to panic that she’d she may have “overcooked her clit”.

She continued: “Have you heard of ‘Dead Vagina Syndrome’? It’s the idea that the overuse of your vibrator may lead to your vagina and/or clitoris losing sensitivity or even becoming numb.”

As she tossed and turned at 3am, Lacey went into full meltdown and feared that she may never orgasm again.

However after doing her research the next day, Lacey found out that DVS is nothing more than an old wives’ tale.

Dr Shazia Malik previously told Metro that there was no medical evidence that dead vagina syndrome is real and the gynaecologist said that any decreased sensation after using a vibrator was “almost always temporary”.

Instead, Lacey suspects that she had subconsciously grown tired of using the same vibrator in the same way and is planning on playing around with settings and angles.

She added: “It’s important to approach your pleasure with an open mind and without judgement. We all have embarrassing stories and we have things to learn.

“For example, one friend told me she once masturbated for so long that she bruised her clit. It was purple for days.

“So perhaps it’s time to be kind to your clitoris – it’s the only one you’ve got.”
