ELLEN DeGeneres recently purchased a new $8.5million Beverly Hills mansion.
The 63-year-old’s luxurious home features a chef’s kitchen, a lush garden, a pool, and more.
The mansion, which was officially sold on August 27, offers a sophisticated mid-century modern feel.
Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi, 48, will have plenty of privacy, as their new home is located in a private and guard-gated enclave of Hidden Valley Estates.
The front of the Beverly Hills mansion includes a dramatic courtyard entry.
The home was built in 1961, though has been restored over the years- most recently by architect John Bertram with designer Sarah Shetter.
However, the layout of the mansion remains true to the original design and incorporates Douglas fir furniture-grade custom cabinetry, terrazzo flooring and Calacatta Gold and Salt Marble countertops.
Other design components added during the renovation process include LSI museum-quality lighting, redwood tongue and groove interior and exterior siding.
All new fixtures, finishes and systems have been added to the home to create a more modern feeling, while a chef’s kitchen was also built with top-of-the-line appliances.
The home’s kitchen is spacious enough to include a table, while a larger table can also be placed in the dining room to allow the couple to host numerous dinner parties.
According to the Realtor.com listing, the kitchen, primary suite, and office were designed to offer a “warm and elegant reimagining” of the home’s original layout, while the bathrooms and closets throughout the house have been “stylishly redone.”
Additionally, the house offers multiple rooms and spaces that allow for intimacy and privacy that are set off from the common spaces on the open floor plan.
Natural light is not lacking in the home, as walls of glass create an ideal setting for both hosting and relaxing at home.
Luckily for Ellen and Portia, the outside of the home is just as nice as the inside.
Their spacious backyard includes a beautiful pool, lush greenery, mature trees and professionally designed gardens.
The talk show host- who has been open about her love of gardening- will have no problem finding the space and inspiration to create her own garden.
ELLEN’S NEW BEGINNINGS
Ellen and Portia purchased the gorgeous home months after the TV vet shared her plans to retire from The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Her decision came after she apologized for the toxic workplace allegations that plagued the talk show.
