Inside home with ‘one of world’s best designs’ comes with ‘sky bridge’ and bar

A family home complete with a home office, bar, gym and much more has been rated one of the best designs in the world.

The £2million property is located in the village of Wiswell in Lancashire, and it was designed as a family home.

Inside the luxury building, there is a home office, a bar and a gym, as well as a golf simulator, cinema room and a private guest suite.

Inside there’s even an illuminated staircase leading to a “sky bridge” which connects the bedroom and entertainment areas.

According to Manchester Evening News, one of the house’s main social spaces is the bar area with a backlit curved bar.

It also has a floating timber cabinetry and porcelain feature walls.

Over on the first floor of the house there is a kitchen connected to a family room with a vaulted ceiling.

Through a “secret door”, residents can access a sound-proof cinema with a giant screen and a sofa full of comfy pillows.

Designer Simon Evans created the interiors and he said he kept in mind the natural landscape, hence the large windows.

The mansion has been nominated as the best residential house over £1million category in the SBID International Design Awards.

Simon said: “We felt that the house would benefit from the use of natural materials and a design scheme underpinned by luxurious wood in rich tones was developed to run throughout the house, creating an effortless flow from one space to the next.

“The simple understated elegance of the design and furnishings is inspired by Armani hotels – the epitome of ‘sophisticated comfort’.

“A key part of the brief for this property was to ensure a natural flow from one space to the next while also indicating to guests which are ‘open’ spaces and which are private.

“To create this seamless journey through the house we utilised a colour palette of neutral tones offset by either dark wood or grey stained oak cabinetry throughout the scheme.”

The designer has worked on a host of high-profile homes in recent years, including for footballers Marcus Rashford and Raheem Sterling.

Speaking of the award nomination, he added: “We’re thrilled to be considered as a finalist at the prestigious SBID industry awards for this residential home.

“Our client was an absolute pleasure to work with as they engaged with our trust from a very early stage.

“This allowed us great freedom to ultimately create a home that does full justice to the brief, location and surroundings.”
