PETER Andre and his wife Emily are celebrating a decade together, with the singer telling her this week: “I honestly love you more than ever.”
However, the course of love wasn’t always so smooth for the picture-perfect pair – starting with their disastrous first date.
Peter, 48, tried to impress Emily, 32, back when she was a student after roaring up to her flat in a flashy Lamborghini.
Things started well when the singer invited Emily and her mum to one of his gigs, after getting to know her dad, a surgeon who treated his kidney stones.
It was love at first sight between the Mysterious Girl singer and Emily, who was 23 at the time.
However, Peter was wary of pursuing a romance as he didn’t want to confuse Junior and Princess, his children with ex-wife Katie Price.
Two years later they began dating, with the star explaining: “I didn’t ever want to do the wrong thing.
“I knew the day I asked her dad for permission to go out with me and said: ‘Can I ask her to be my girlfriend?’ I knew that it wasn’t a fling and my intention was to marry her.”
But the first date wasn’t such a success, with Emily explaining on Loose Women: “He turned up to my student flat in Bristol and it was snowing, really snowing.
“He decided to drive a Lamborghini to come and visit me in university. That doesn’t really float my boat.
“I think he misjudged it slightly because I couldn’t care less about cars, but he didn’t do it again, that’s for sure.”
Peter said: “I think, in my 30s, I think I was having a midlife crisis. I really do.
“I think my 40s… I just completely… I wouldn’t do that now. I really liked her and it took me so long to realise what I was feeling.
“I thought, ‘I can’t stuff this up so I have to do what I can.'”

However, things went from strength to strength with the pair marrying in 2015 at Mamhead House in Exeter.
In the years since then, the couple moved in together at a mansion in Surrey and Emily forged an unbreakable bond with Peter’s children.
This month Princess, 13, told her: “Emsssss happy birthday! You’re such a good stepmum!” as she turned 32.
She added: “I love you so much have the best day💕❤️.”
Touched, the junior doctor replied: “Oh thank you so much!! Best birthday message ❤️❤️❤️ love you xxxx.”
The pair also have two children of their own, daughter Amelia, seven, and son Theo, four.
For the occasion, Peter took her to the super-swish Shanri-La hotel in London’s Shard.
He posted a picture of them together the next day writing: “Last night was so special.
“We’ve been together now for almost 10 years (married 6) and I honestly love you more than ever. Happy birthday beautiful 😻.”
