WELCOME to Plathville stars Barry and Kim Plath own a nearly $663K real estate empire featuring a 57-acre farm and two homes in Georgia.
Barry, 53, and Kim, 48, raised their nine children on their 57-acre farm in Whigham, Georgia with no computers, video games and other modern amenities.
Kim’s mother, Gretchen, first bought 34.66 acres of vacant land in August 1993 for $47,000.
She then transferred the deed to Kim in May 2002 at no cost.
In July 2000, Barry dropped $130,000 on 10.01 acres of land that featured a barn, shed and well.
A one-family, 1,024 square-foot home sits on the property.
In May 2019, Barry bought 10.01 more acres of land for $86,000.
Most recently in November 2020, Barry and Kim extended the property by 2.79 acres of vacant land for $5,000.
NEW HOME
On season two of Welcome to Plathville, Barry and Kim moved off the farm and into a stunning five-bedroom, six-bathroom home that sits on 3.5 acres of land.
They bought the traditional-style home in December 2019 for $340,000.
According to Realtor, the gourmet kitchen has an island with stainless steel appliances.
The kitchen also features white cabinets and granite countertops.
The home has hardwood floors throughout, and includes custom finishes like Greek key designs throughout the exterior brickwork and interior molding.
The family room has floor to ceiling glass walls.
There is also a duel fireplace in the living room and library.
Barry and Kim have plenty of privacy despite their full house, as one bedroom is separated by a wing with its own full bath and library.
The backyard has a stone patio and open grass for the kids to play.
The couple also bought another home back in October 2017 for $55,000.
The 3,637 square-foot home sits on .96 acres of land and has brick exterior.
FAMILY DRAMA
Barry, Kim and their nine children star on TLC’s Welcome to Plathville.
The parents believe in a conservative and strict lifestyle, as their children are banned from sugar, TV, video games, computers, social media and more.
Oldest son Ethan’s wife Olivia grew up in a less conservative household, as the parents didn’t agree with her influence on their son and the other children.
He has been estranged from his parents since the second season of the show.
Younger brother Micah, 20, moved out of the home to pursue modeling.
He struggled with only being able to see his younger siblings with his parents present because of his “lifestyle.”
Rebel daughter Moriah, 18, moved out of the home and has been “living life” ever since, as she works two jobs and is dating boyfriend Max Kallschmidt.
She said on the show: “When I’m at my parents house, it feels like a cage I worked so hard to get out of.”
Season three of the show premiered this week.
