Israel Dillard is getting ready to head back to school! He’s the son of former Counting On stars Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard.
Fans will recall that Jill shook things up last year by sending her son to public school. All of the Duggar kids were homeschooled, but Jill and Derick decided to take a different approach with their own kids. Though they received some pushback from fans, Derick assured fans that this wasn’t a decision they took lightly. Plenty of other fans sent words of encouragement their way.
From what Jill and Derick posted on social media, it looks like Israel had a great year in kindergarten. As the new school year approaches, fans are curious about whether he will go to public school.
So far, Jill hasn’t revealed when her son is starting school or whether he’s being homeschooled or going to public school. But a new post hints that he may be headed to public school again.
Israel Dillard picks out a new backpack.
On Instagram, Jill has been sharing new photos from the family’s trip to Oregon. While they were there, they met up with the Roloffs, as well as some of their other friends. In one of her recent uploads, she shows off her son Israel’s new backpack. The soon-to-be first grader chose a dinosaur backpack this year. He smiles for the camera as he shows his mom the new backpack for a photo.
In her post, Jill writes, “We stopped at the store to grab Israel a backpack for the new school year.”
Since Israel got a new backpack, it looks like he will be returning to public school. He doesn’t necessarily need a backpack if he’s going to be homeschooled. Of course, it’s possible that he got to pick out a backpack and other school supplies for a school year of homeschooling. But it seems more likely that he’s heading back to public school.
If Israel is heading to public school, we will probably see an adorable back-to-school post soon. Jill is a little bit behind on posting on social media right now, as she is still sharing vacation photos. So, Israel might already be back in school now.
