Jay Cutler and Jana Kramer ‘split’ after his ex-wife Kristin Cavallari ‘told friends the romance would never work’

KRISTIN Cavallari’s ex-husband Jay Cutler & Jana Kramer parted ways following their brief romance.

According to USWeekly, the ex NFL quarterback and the actress split after they were first spotted on a date together in September.

The insider revealed: “Jana is still single. She and Jay went on a few dates, but things seemed to fizzle out between them. They’re not seeing each other anymore.”

Jana, 37, and Jay, 38, made headlines when they were getting cozy together at a comedy show by Nate Bargatze in South Carolina.

A source for E! News confirmed that the pair was “there, and they had a lot of fun.”

The two reportedly had their first date at Bourbon Steak before they had gone for “drinks” at Nashville’s L.A. Jackson, according to People. 

Kristin, however, was not happy about the news that her children’s father and former BFF were romantically linked.

The 34-year-old reportedly blocked the Love At First Bark actress on social media when she discovered that her former Spring Breakdown co-star had gone on a date with her ex-husband. 

The Hills alum split from Jay back in 2020.

The exes share three children: Camden, nine, Jaxon, seven, and daughter Saylor, five.

An insider told The Daily Mail that Kristin claimed to have felt “like it is a complete stab in the back.”

The source added: “Girlfriends don’t do this to one another.”

At the beginning of September, TMZ discovered that the reality star and country star Chase Rice had been dating since July.

The outlet mentioned the two had been keeping things supposedly “pretty low-key and casual.”

Neither Kristin nor Chase have confirmed their romance though.

JEALOUS EX

Jealousy may have played a factor in Jay and Jana’s short-lived romance as Kristin was getting back on the dating scene at the same time.

Sources close to the Laguna Beach alum told USWeekly at the time that “Jay was trying to make Kristin jealous but Kristin has told friends it isn’t going to work.”

“It’s not a coincidence that Jay decided to go public with Jana right after news broke that Kristin and Chase Rice are dating.”

A source also said that the news was especially painful since “Kristin’s been helping Jana throughout her divorce” from ex-football star Mike Caussin.

CO-PARENTING STRUGGLES

The country singer recently opened up about her co-parting struggles with her ex as they share five-year-old daughter Jolie, and two-year-old son Jace together.

“I have to basically put aside my own feelings of hurt and anger and frustration and betrayal, which are all very much there,” she told People.

“It’s really hard to do when you have that betrayal and you want to be angry, but I have two beautiful children that don’t deserve that energy.”

Jana added: “Whenever we’re with the kids we’re always very energetic to each other and we respect each other.

“It’s very hard. I go in the car and I’ll either cry or call friends and just scream.”

The former couple split in 2016 after he cheated with multiple women, as he entered treatment for sex addiction soon after.

In December 2017, they renewed their vows in Hawaii, however, trouble occurred again after Jana discovered a woman texted him a topless photo in October 2019.

Jana, who has over two million followers on Instagram, has not been shy when it comes to opening up about her past relationship – she even “sold her wedding ring” to renovate her home.

But now she’s decided to keep any new romances under wraps.

“You know, I have been very open in all my relationships, especially with my last relationship,” she told People.

“For me, I just feel like I need to be very careful talking about the next relationships because I know how they get picked apart.

“Right now I just want to enjoy and keep things close to me.”
