Talk about a throwback.
Joel Madden posted a sweet tribute to Sofia Richie on Instagram Tuesday with never-before-seen photos in honor of her 23rd birthday.
“Happy Birthday to my little sister,” the 42-year-old rocker captioned the Instagram post. “@sofiarichie love you forever Sof.”
In one adorable selfie, a young Sofia in braids posed between Madden and her sister, Nicole Richie.
He also shared snaps with their family throughout the years.
“I love you beyond,” the birthday girl commented while Lionel Richie wrote, “😍 Love this.”
Sofia is the daughter of Lionel and Diane Alexander. Nicole, who is married to Madden, was adopted by Lionel and his ex-wife, Brenda Harvey, when she was nine years old.
Nicole and the Good Charlotte singer met in 2006 and they married in 2010. They share two children, Harlow, 13, and Sparrow, 11.
“The Simple Life” alum said in a 2017 interview, “It’s extremely important to us for our kids to be kids, to have a full-blown childhood. Not that there’s anything wrong with taking your kids here and there, but [we’re] just developing a strong closeness and trust with our kids right now.
“Now is the time for me to really have some one-on-one time with [Harlow], for me to hang out with her friends, to do things that she’s interested in. What we both do is just try and pour our interest into what the kids are interested in.”
The Richies have, like seemingly every other celebrity under the sun, hit the Mediterranean this summer, partying aboard a $150 million yacht off Mykonos in Greece in June.
