In late August, Kanye West filed paperwork in the Los Angeles Superior Court to legally change his name to “Ye,” and a source says the move has loved ones worried.
“Kanye West’s bent on starting a new chapter after his split from Kim Kardashian, and cutting off all association with his former life,” spills the source.
If the judge approves Kanye West ‘s name change request, it means “Ye” will be on the final divorce papers, and the source notes it’s “a slap in the face” for Kim whose four children with the rapper carry the surname “West.” “It’s a little insulting,” the source says. And alarming.
“It’s not lost on Kim that this move comes right before the release of his new album Donda, name after his mother, Kanye was devastated when she passed,” the source continues. “He carries a lot of guilt from her death, and this name change feels like an attempt to outrun his past.”
