KYLIE Minogue’s boyfriend has decided not to move to Australia with her, meaning they will live on opposite sides of the world.
The singer, 53, has told friends she is determined to make her relationship with Paul Solomons, 47, work long distance despite her decision to head back Down Under.
She is returning to her home city of Melbourne after 30 years living in London to be closer to her family.
It means Kylie will be 10,500 miles away from her partner of three-and-a-half years.
However, some believed Paul would go with her following his decision to quit as creative director of GQ magazine.
But the Welshman, who was born in Caerphilly, told her he intends to stay in the UK.
Those close to Kylie insist the couple are able to make the distance work.
A source said: “Kylie and Paul are both very independent and believe they can have a long-distance relationship.
“Right now, Kylie has made the decision to move back to Australia and while Paul doesn’t want to relocate, they are still very much together and in love.
“Of course she will be back in the UK from time to time and he will visit Melbourne. They are going to make it work.”
Kylie moved to London in the early 1990s after her music career took off.
She bought a £16million home in Knightsbridge in 2011.
But The Sun revealed last month that she was considering returning to Australia.
She is expected to go before the end of the year.
Kylie’s move back to Melbourne will bring her closer to her parents Ronald and Carol as well as her singer sister Dannii, 49, and brother Brendan, 51.
