Lisa Rinna is far from my favorite housewife. In her years on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, we’ve seen her do a lot of messed up stuff. After accusing Yolanda Hadid of having Munchausen Syndrome, then hiding behind Lisa Vanderpump, she really started off as a slickster. She took it even further when she said Kim Richards was “close to death” then pretended she didn’t remember saying it. For someone who loves to scream “own it”, she doesn’t do a lot of that herself. And who could forget the whole “let’s talk about the husband” situation? How come we never got to talk about it?
But one of Rinna’s worst moments on screen was last season when she threw longtime friend and castmate Denise Richards under the bus. After being accused of an affair with Brandi Glanville, instead of sticking by her friend’s denials, Lisa came at her even harder. Nothing Denise said would have stopped Rinna, so can you blame Denise for giving up and exiting the show?
But what fans have been pointing out with the whole Erika Jayne scandal is that Rinna seems to be letting Erika off a little too easy. Rinna recently went on Watch What Happens Live and addressed some of the criticism. Andy Cohen attempted to hold her feet to the fire, reading a tweet from a viewer that asked why Rinna pointed out Denise’s inconsistencies last season and not Erika’s this season. Rinna replied, “Ok, so I will talk to you. What I will tell you is that I am somebody who does take a look at my behavior and what I’ve done. And I have grown since last year.”
She continued, “And I’m not going to behave the same way I did last year with Denise with Erika. It’s different. It’s like apples and oranges. We’re dealing with a totally different set of circumstances. And you know, what I do have to say is the audience has to wait and let it play out. We are just at the beginning of this.”
Andy went on to say that the most recent episode was where the LA Times article came out and the ladies were just starting to see what Tom Girardi has allegedly been up to. Rinna jumped in and clarified, “What Tom has been doing. Let’s make that clear.”
Another viewer asked Rinna what was she smoking when you said it’s not out job to ask questions when you entire career on hosuewives has been asking questions of Yolanda, Kim, Lisa and Denise? Which is a very fair question. Rinna retorted, “That is true. I will own all of that, of course. F**k yes. But here’s the thing. Do I have to f*cking do everything? Do I have to carry the show on my back? No! I mean seriously though, seriously though. There are other people, there are 8 of us. Am I the only person held accountable to this? No! I’m not.”

Andy then wanted to know how much Rinna thinks Erika knew. She responded, “I’ve known Erika for a long time. I don’t think she knew anything.” Andy seemed perplexed as she went on. “You tell me how she would know…why would Tom Girardi tell Erika anything? The lawyers didn’t even know. I mean, that is how I feel. I’m going to stand by it and if I’m wrong, sorry, I’ll f**king deal with it. I’m sorry, I’m cussing a lot. I’m not going to cuss. But that’s my feeling.”
The show moved on and Andy created a poll to see if the women should be concerned being around Erika, like Sutton Stracke said in the episode. Rinna added, “I don’t know. What Erika does doesn’t affect me. I mean, that’s the truth. I have businesses, you think I would be more worried. Sutton doesn’t really have a business.” Andy pointed out she has a store and Rinna said “Sure, she has a store but like, I don’t understand that. I just don’t.”
Rinna seems dead set own sticking by Erika and I’m not totally sure why. But either way, it looks like Erika is going to have to own it one way or another. Too bad Rinna won’t be a part of it.
