Lucifer’ is going to be back with 5th Season on Netflix as per the announcement made on the official twitter handle of the show. Netflix which didn’t even release the first three seasons of the show in US picked it up from FOX after the latter canceled after the third season. The massive popularity and online fan campaigns forced Netflix to revive the show.
The 4th season was then premiered exclusively on Netflix across the world on May 8th, 2018 and became so popular that it skyrocketed to 1st position displacing HBO’s Game of Thrones. The announcement for the 5th season was made in May 2019 but sadly its was also announced that this will be the final season also. However, looking at the reactions from fans the fifth season which was earlier only 10 episodes have now been expanded to 16 episodes.
While the names of the first five episodes of the fifth season have been released, we are expecting details about the other episodes to be shared soon. The writing of the season began in July with the first scenes of the fifth season having already been written. Richard Speight Jr will return to the director’s chair.
Filming of the fifth season began in September 2019 and Erik Aude has been added to the cast to play Rod.

The fifth season will be released in two halves with the first season expected to be released in Summer 2020 and the second half by the end of 2020. With the split, the anticipation of the finale will only increase.
