LUIS SUAREZ has advised his friend Xavi to turn down the Barcelona job because the club is at odds with itself. Manager Ronald Koeman is on the verge of being fired.

Luis Suarez has urged former teammate Xavi not to take the Barcelona manager’s job if it becomes available. “At Barca, there is a war that hurts the players,” Suarez, an Atletico Madrid striker who was forced out last year, told Sport. “I personally advise Xavi to wait,” says

. “This is not the best time to go to the club..”

“He is intelligent and understands the club’s difficulties, and he must wait for the right moment.”

Xavi, 41, is currently the coach of Al Sadd in Qatar, where he led the team to the league title last season.
