A man was spotted dressing like cold-blooded killer Michael Myers from horror film “Halloween” while he roamed a beach during a storm.
The bizarre scenes were captured by local residents watching Galveston beach, Texas, on Monday (September 13).
Video posted to Twitter shows the masked man holding a “blood stained knife” as he casually walks along the long stretch of sand.
He watches the raging waves hitting the shore.
Mycah Hatfield, a reporter from ABC13, wrote: “Just when you think you’ve seen it all, someone walks past you down the Galveston beach dressed like Michael Myers in Halloween ahead of Tropical Storm Nicholas.”
The man was later arrested by police and he was identified as lawyer Mark Metzger.
Mark told the broadcaster he was trying to “bring positive vibes in the gloomy doom” with his stunt but realised not everyone found it funny.
He said: “I just don’t think they appreciate it that much. I guess there’s some people out there that don’t have a sense of humour or, you know, can’t please them all.
“It felt like a scene out of Scooby-Doo after they handcuffed me and pulled the mask off, like, ‘I would have gotten away with it if wasn’t for those meddling Karens, you know?”
Galveston Police told ABC13 that Mark was cited for disorderly conduct and released but he questioned whether the stunt he did was illegal.
Mark, who works as a lawyer in the Galveston area, said with the courts closed he had some extra time on his hands.
He is no stranger to pulling these stunts and did something similar when Hurricane Harvey struck Houston in 2017.
When he was asked if he would do a similar stunt again in the future, he said: “If I had to do it all over again, I absolutely would.”
