Man uses ‘most British’ hack ever to kick people off shared Netflix account

A man came up with an inventive way to kick his mates off their shared Netflix account.

Tired of having to share screen time, he sent his pals panicky text messages urging them to turn on the news.

He revealed it’s sure to work “when there’s too many people on your Netflix”.

In a viral TikTok video, the Netflix user turns on the telly and sees the message: “Sorry, too many people are using your account at the moment.

“To continue, stop playing on another screen or see plan options at netflix.com/changeplan.”

Rather than upgrading his plan, he calls his mate and asks what he is doing and if he has his TV on.

The friend says: “Just chilling, about to go get my haircut.”

So he replies: “Have you got your TV on? What channel are you on? Put Channel One on rapid.”

His mate pauses, presumably looking for his TV remote control, and replies: “Why?”

The man told him: “Think the Queen’s died.”

His friend brushes it off and tells him to “f*** off”.

While still waiting to get into Netflix, he asks again: “Put it on, is it on?”

“It’s just loading now,” the man on the phone replies.

A second later, the background sound can be heard saying “now on BBC News…”

At the same time, the TikToker’s TV screen refreshes and it opens up to the landing page of hit drama Friends.

He quickly tells his friend: “Nice one mate, I’ll see you in a bit.”

Viewers were left in stitches and said he pulled a brilliant prank.

One said: “Not using our Lizzy to make him hurry up! Haha.”

A second wrote: “Brilliant. The fact that you did it to watch Friends!”

“This has made my night!” a third added.

“The most British thing you can do to watch Friends.”

“The fact that we don’t know anything about the Queen but her existence is still so important to us,” another penned.
