Matt LeBlanc’s comedy series, Man with a Plan was a pleasant addition to Netflix last year. However, that’s all about to change as Netflix subtly reveals the removal date for this comedy series.
Man with a Plan stealthily leaving Netflix
It seems like Man with a Plan is leaving Netflix similarly to how it arrived- subtly. Without prior notice, on September 30, 2020, the series joined the comedy lineup on Netflix. Until August 29th, all four seasons were available for streaming. It seems like the fan-based campaign for a Season 5 revival is now ill-fated.

Alongside Matt LeBlanc, the series stars Liza Snyder, Matt Cook, and Grace Kaufman. The show is about Adam Burns. When Adam’s wife returns to work, he’s left at home with the kids.
Now, without the usual PR, the series is slated to leave Netflix. However, this seems to be the trend for CBS shows. What’s on Netflix reports that “CBS is pulling back a number of big titles from Netflix over the next couple of months. Unfortunately, Man with a Plan isn’t the only CBS show leaving Netflix. The Unicorn and Evil are both slated to leave the streaming service later this month.
Other CBS shows are leaving the streaming service
Typically when a major network removes its content from Netflix, that’s a good sign that the network is getting ready to release its own streaming service. ViacomCBS exec, Bob Bakish confirms this in an interview. He shares that licensing is a tool used to “help drive traffic and subscriptions to its own service.” An example of this is when Disney pulled their content from Netflix in preparation for Disney+. That being said, Man with a Plan will likely be available for exclusive streaming on Paramount+.

What else leaves Netflix in September?
Other popular titles departing Netflix this month include the following:
- all three Austin Powers movies
- all three The Karate Kid movies
- Ripper Street
- Penny Dreadful
- I’m Sorry
- Pawn Stars
- Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
- Beauty & the Beast (Seasons 1-4)
That list is not inclusive, but there are a lot of great titles leaving Netflix in September.
