Melissa Joan Hart Responds to a Fake ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ Reboot Reveal That Has Gone Viral.

When rumors of a Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot went viral, fans of the beloved 1990s sitcom had a brief moment of excitement. The fan art that was posted on a Facebook fan page claiming that Sabrina was getting a reboot on ABC received nearly 50k likes. “The ‘Mother’ of all reboots, Sabrina Spellman, is back… Her teenage daughter is about to turn eighteen, and she’s recently widowed. Melissa Joan Hart, Caroline Rhea, and Beth Broderick are all set to return, according to the announcement. Hart, however, chimed in on the post, putting an end to the rumors. “Please accept my apologies, gentlemen. She wrote, “I wish it were true, but it’s fake news.” This rumor follows Sabrina the Teenage Witch’s 25th anniversary, which Hart commemorated with an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday.

“It’s been brought to my attention that our show first aired on ABC for 7 seasons 25 years ago today, September 27, 1996,” Hart wrote. “We called it the little engine that could because it was in the shadow of the much-anticipated show Clueless, but it persevered, and we were able to recruit [Red Donovan] to join our fun cast. Over the years, there have been many talented guest stars, musical acts, and magic tv tricks. It had been an incredible ride, full of friendships and crazy memories! Thank you for your love and support in allowing us to do what we love, which is to make people smile!! Sabrina the Teenage Witch Day is today! ”

Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which recently wrapped a four-season run, gave Sabrina the Teenage Witch a much darker reboot. While Hart admitted that the new Iteration of the show didn’t “аppeаl” to her, she wаs glаd thаt the chаrаcter remаined on the show. She told E!, “I think it’s fаntаstic.” In 2019, there will be news. “It’s like а sisterhood when you plаy the sаme chаrаcters, I think, аnd probаbly how the Jаmes Bond guys feel, or something, on а different level, but you know…” But I think it’s fаntаstic, becаuse they’re doing something completely different. If the shows were similаr, I think I’d be а little аnnoyed, like, ‘Oh, thаt hurts.’ ‘However, it’s а completely different story.’ ”
