Messi hints at next club in press conference, one team ‘is a possibility’

Lionel Messi has revealed in his farewell press conference that he is not sure where he will play next season following last week’s bombshell announcement that he will leave Barcelona.

Speaking in a farewell press conference via Barcelona’s official YouTube channel, the footballing icon said that he has had calls from multiple clubs, and that PSG is a possibility.

Messi has spent his entire career at Barcelona where the 34-year-old forward has immortalised himself in the game of football.

The Argentina legend has won three UEFA Champions League titles, ten La Liga titles, and six Ballon d’Or awards.

The future of Messi will be hotly debated for the remainder of the window. However, PSG have emerged as the frontrunners for the signature of the South American icon.

Messi said in the press conference when asked about his next move: “PSG is a possibility, yes. At the moment nothing is confirmed, I received a lot of calls after Barcelona’s statement. We’re talking about it.”

The 34-year-old attacker departing Barcelona is one of the biggest football stories of the year, and a move to Paris would be an astronomical play from the Ligue 1 giants.

With Mauricio Pochettino’s side already bolstering the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Sergio Ramos, PSG will be one of the most stacked sides in recent European history with the addition of Messi.
