Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande Speak Out In Support Of #FreeBritney

Britney Spears is still a trending topic in the media, ever since her fans kicked off the #FreeBritney movement in April 2019. Concern for the singer got enormous, as fans wanted to know why the court is yet to rescind its rule that the singer remains under conservatorship with her father, Jamie Spears in control of all her assets.

Recently, Spears opened up a few months ago that her father has tried to monitor everything in her life, and restricted her from achieving her set dreams and goals. She went on to say that the support system was put in place to help her, rather it ‘failed and hurt her deeply.’

As fans continue to seek the reversal of the conservatorship ruling, many celebrities have spoken up in defense of the “Toxic” singer. They are now asking for more insight into the Pop star’s conservatorship that has been reportedly used to take advantage of her for years. From Miley Cyrus to  Ariana Grande, Pete Davidson, Cher and many more— these stars want Spears to know that they’ve got her as she fights for her right in court.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus has always been known for a grand entrance and speech during awards, so it was not shocking that the “Wrecking Ball” singer gave her #FreeBritney speech on the pre-Super Bowl LV stage.

During her performance on the show in February 2021, Cyrus opened up about the “Framing Britney Spears” documentary premiere, and urged fans to go and stream it as soon as it is available. The singer went ahead to air her thoughts on the conservatorship in support of Spears, and her fans were psyched.

Prior to this, in August 2020, Cyrus was in a discussion with iHeartRadio Canada, when she said; “Britney, like anyone else, should have the freedom to live the life that’s most authentic to her.”

She also noted that the singer has been speaking out for so long, and it was time for the world to hear her voice.

Ariana Grade

In July 2021, Ariana Grande showed her support by re-posting a video of Spears on her Instagram stories with the hashtag #FreeBritney.

The video showed the “Circus” singer engaged in horseback and cartwheels riding, after she landed a court victory. After much persuasion and evidence to show that Spears is capable of making her decisions, a judge ruled that the singer should be given the right to select the attorney she wants to fight her conservatorship case.

Although this was a slight step in the right direction, the singer looked elated in the video and she exercised beautifully.

Grande’s fans took to the comment section of her Instagram page to applaud her for showing support for the #FreeBritney campaign.

Pete Davidson

Pete Davidson has seen his fair share of troubles in the celebrity world, and although he could never relate with Spears, he knows that she is fighting for her right as she wants to het her life back from the people who have been in control all these years.

Davidson joked on Saturday Night Live that he and his mother were watching the Britney Spears documentary one day, when it suddenly dawned on him that she could be given control over his life and finances one day in the future. This led the singer to immediately turn it off in fear.

“I was like, ‘Wait, she could do that and she hasn’t Doesn’t she love me?’ All Britney Spears did was shave her head. I got a life-size tattoo of the Tootsie Pop owl,” he exclaimed.

Cher

Cher, who’s often regarded as “The Goddess of Pop” has been in the industry for more than two decades, and has worked almost every day to make sure that she earns her years in the spotlight. This is one A-lister that knows too well what it means to work effortlessly as a musician, and have everything you ever worked for taken away from you int he blink of an eye.

In August 2020, she took to her Twitter page to slam Spears’ doctor who may have had something to do with her deteriorated health in the past.

“She worked hard, was The Golden Goose, made lots of money, now she’s the cash cow. Does anyone who’s making money off her being sick want her well? Someone who doesn’t want anything from her should look into her Dr. Everyone in Bega heard stories,” Cher wrote.

A year later, she used the #FreeBritney hashtag in another tweet.

“When #FreeBritney is FINALLY FREE, I’m taking her to San Tropez & we’ll eat Ice cream till her hearts content,” she tweeted.

Other celebrities who have openly slammed the conservatorship and used #FreeBritney include; Dolly Parton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Meghan McCain, Charlie Puth, Howard Stern, Mara Wilson, Will.i.am, Ryan Reynolds and many more.
