She recently uploaded a video where she explained that there are nine minutes of the day that are most impactful when it comes to talking with your child.

“You’re going to love this if you’re a busy parent, a working parent or a tired parent. Okay, it’s for any parent,” she said.

“Did you know that there is a total of nine minutes every day that has the greatest impact on your child?”

She went on to say that this interesting theory was developed by a neuroscientist.

“[He] showed that talking with your child one on one during these nine impactful minutes of the day will do a world of good for your child’s social and emotional wellbeing,” Shari said.

But when exactly are these nine minutes of the day when you should be having great conversations with your child?

Shari went on to say that they are: “The first three minutes upon waking up, the three minutes when they come back at the end of the day when you’re reunited with them and the three minutes before they go to bed.

“Those are the best nine minutes of the day for you to spend one on one conversing with your child.

“I mean we are literally talking three minutes three times a day and your child will feel loved, feel heard, will learn how to express themselves and become a great conversationalist.”

The video proved to be a hit with people on TikTok, as at the time of writing it had been viewed more than 428k times.

Viewers flooded the comments section, asking questions and sharing their own bits of advice.

“When my boys were little I would ask about the ‘highlights and lowlights’ of their day. They’re 17 and 20 now and automatically share their days with me,” one commenter revealed.

Shari responded: “Yes! It’s so true! We’re conditioning them to share their days with us, this really pays off!”

Another woman added: “Love this! My three bedtime questions were: the best thing, the worst thing and a confusing thing that happened that day.”

One busy mother asked for help from Shari, saying that she was finding it difficult to encourage her child to speak more.

She asked: “My son is almost three. When I try and ask conversationalist type questions, 95 per cent of the time he just says no. How do I do this?”

“Here’s a trick… ask questions starting with the five W’s/ Because when you ask yes/no questions, you get yes/no responses,” Shari suggested.
