A mum has gone viral on TikTok for sharing a simple iPhone setting in the contacts app which allows your phone to ring out loud even when your phone is on silent
A mum has shared a simple iPhone hack to ensure you never miss an important phone call or text again.
Lauren shared the “mum hack that you need to know” on TikTok, where she posts under the username @laurenjd25.
In the video, which has since gone viral, the 25-year-old mum demonstrates how to turn on a setting in the contacts app which means your phone will ring out loud when you get a text message or phone call from certain people.
Using the card for her child’s school as an example, she explains: “Go onto your contacts, click the contact that you need.
“Press edit, then what you need to do then is click ringtone, set to emergency bypass.
“Do the same for text, set to emergency bypass.
“And then if your phone is on silent it will actually ring out loud or text out loud so you will be able to hear it.”
It takes only a second or two to set up and gives you peace of mind that your phone will always ring out loud when you need it to.
Since being posted, the video has racked up more than 14,700 likes and almost 200 comments from thankful viewers.
Many people shared the video with their closest friends and family, urging them to turn on the setting.
One person said: “Saving lives. Imma do this for my dad.”
Another viewer who tagged their pal wrote: “lol I’m gonna do this for you because my phone’s always on silent.”
A third added: “Omg this is quite good.”
One mum even suggested changing the ringtone for their child’s school so they know when they’re ringing.
Previously a dad shared an iPhone hack to help keep your kids occupied for prolonged periods of time.
Melissa was blown away when her partner shared a handy setting that allows you to lock your iPhone on a particular app so that your child can use it without accidentally making any purchases or sending random messages.
