MY Big Fat Fabulous Life‘s Whitney Thore slammed trolls who accused her French boyfriend of being embarrassed of her.
In a passionate Instagram post, the 37-year-old defended her boyfriend’s right to protect his privacy.
Whitney shared a photo of herself with her mystery man as they posed outside the world famous art gallery, the Louvre, in Paris.
In the photo he has his arm around her and she is gazing up at him lovingly.
Whitney blurred his face to protect his privacy as she described her relationship as a “blur”, alongside a tornado emojie.
“The amount of comments and DMs and tweets I’ve gotten from viewers assuring me that this man is embarrassed of me and does not care about me is confusing,” she wrote.
“I just spent 6 weeks with him in the planet’s most-visited country, and as you can see, we are clearly out in public at one of the world’s biggest tourist attractions…but because he doesn’t want his face shown on TV to millions of people around the world, he must be embarrassed of me?”
Whitney went on to say “there’s a big difference between being in public with someone versus choosing to put your identity on display on the internet and TV for people to rip apart.”
She added: “If he was ever doubting his decision to be anonymous in these arenas, comments like these only validate it.”
“Can’t y’all let someone be happy? I’ve had 8 serious relationships — the “public” has only seen 3 of them (I had 30 years of life before TV, imagine that!) and I’ve dated some shitty dudes and had heartbreaks, but I also do not doubt that I have been loved deeply and fiercely and above all, I know that I deserve to be loved,” Whitney wrote.
The reality star then had a final message for people who thought her boyfriend was embarrassed of her.
“If you feel that you can’t be loved because of your size or for any other reason, please don’t project that onto me — because I’m out here trying to enjoy myself and this person and what we have together ✌️,” she said.
Back in July, she took to Instagram to reveal she has a new boyfriend.
Whitney said on her TLC show: “I have met a French man who lives in France. We met on a language exchange program platform online.
“He is in his 30s, but he’s younger than me. He’s a graphic designer.
“He’s filled up a lot of my time and become a friend- I feel like a good friend. We’ve been talking for almost probably five months now.
“It’s fun and it’s exciting. We learn French, but mostly we just talk.”
The TV personality added that the mystery man may help her get over her ex-fiance Chase Severino, stating: “For the first time since Chase I have started to feel some little inklings, yearnings, growlings, buzzings, something.”
