Why was MHA episode 107 delayed?

At the time of writing, there appear to be two main reasons why My Hero Academia episode 107 has been delayed: the Olympics and the premiere of World Heroes’ Mission.

ComicBook has reported that the episode has been postponed because of the broadcast for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, which have already affected a variety of anime schedules – something reaffirmed by many viewers.

However, some fans are also pointing out on social media that the episode may have also been delayed because the anime movie, World Heroes’ Mission, premiered in Japanese theatres on Friday, August 6th.

Unfortunately, anime fans around the world are used to this; with the episode not launching on streaming platforms until it has aired on domestic television.

Episode 107 preview…

“Deku’s first class in the new year, but there was no teacher Aizawa there. Aizawa and Present Mike head for the enemy containment facility Tartarus after being contacted by Inspector Tsukauchi, and have a shocking reunion.” – My Hero Academia, episode 107.

World Heroes’ mission opens in Japan…

On Friday, August 6th, the My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission premiered in Japanese theatres.

The good news is that the movie has, so far, exceeded expectations from fans in Japan; earning about $2.81 million on its first day, selling around 240,000 tickets.

This means that World Heroes’ Mission earned 229% more revenue on its first day than the previous movie, Heroes Rising.

However, there is still no information to indicate when and where the movie will launch outside Japan.

This article will be updated as soon as more information on MHA 107 is revealed.
