There’s no perfect way to propose – with the ideal engagement varying wildly depending on who it concerns.
Some couples love the idea of a public proposal, while it would prompt others to run for the hills, as they favour a much more low-key engagement.
At the end of the day, if the couple involved in the proposal are happy, that’s what is important.
One man’s attempt to pop the question raised some eyebrows online, with people divided over the low-key attempt.
But happily, the woman he proposed to was over the moon – as she shared her stunning ring online.
In the photo, alongside her new rock, people spotted a note from the woman’s new fiance, which had a rather relaxed tone.
“He isn’t really the best with being romantic but this is the best note ever,” the elated woman wrote on her Facebook post, which went viral online.
The note reads: “Happy Mothers day! Me and Monk love you so much. Thank you for being such a good mother to her.
“I was going to wait until I got home to do this but I wanted to make you happy as soon as you got up. I hope you like it. It’s prob too big because you told me the wrong size lol. Oh well, I love you!
“PS Want to get married some time?” (sic)
The casual contents of the note left people divided, the Sun reports.
“Wait wut???? Tell me this m@n did not propose as a ps in a note while he wasn’t home,” one woman wrote
“Nothing says happily ever after like proposing with a note,” joked another.
While a third fumed: “Throw the whole man away ma dude… He ‘proposed’ but didn’t really ‘propose’ through a note that looks like a monkey scribbled sh*t on a canvas AND to make it even worse the proposal was in the P.S section of the f***ing note.”
But others loved it, with one person commenting: “I think the note is kind of cute.”
