Linked with Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona, Bernardo Silva will reportedly beg Pep Guardiola to let him leave Manchester City.
What’s the story?
The Sun are reporting that Silva wants to leave City for Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
The Portugal international attacker will plead with City boss Guardiola to let him leave.
The Premier League champions are open to selling the 26-year-old, who can play as a midfielder or as a winger, but they want £45 million as transfer fee.
Barcelona want to sign Silva, but the Spanish club are having financial problems and had to actually let Lionel Messi go because of that.
Tottenham Hotspur links
The Athletic reported last month that Silva is among the players City have offered to Tottenham in their bid to sign star striker Harry Kane.
The Sun reported last week that the Citizens could sell the 26-year-old, who can play as a midfielder or as a winger, to fund a move for Spurs star Kane.
Tottenham Hotspur transfer?
If Barcelona are unable to cough up £45 million, then City are not going to sell Silva.
After all, the Citizens are not exactly struggling for money.
This could open the door for a move to Spurs.
Silva – described as “a phenomenon” by City teammate Ruben Dias on the Premier League’s YouTube channel in May 2021 – could become a serious option in a deal to bring Kane to the Etihad Stadium.
If Kane wants to join City and the Citizens are unable to meet Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy’s demands, then Silva could be used as a makeweight.
