Queen’s great-nephew Arthur Chatto first royal to join Marines

Call him Cadet Cutie.

Arthur Chatto, the 22-year-old great-nephew of Queen Elizabeth II, will soon become the first-ever royal to join the Royal Marines, The Sun first reported.

“Arthur Chatto has been accepted to train as an officer in the Royal Marines,” an imperial insider told the UK publication of His Royal Handsome’s decision.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Edward — who completed a third of the 12-month Commando course in 1987 before dropping out — reportedly both approve.

“He told the Queen all about it and she’s pleased and proud. Prince Edward has been very supportive,” the insider added.

Chatto’s parents are Lady Sarah Chatto and Daniel Chatto and his grandmother is Princess Margaret, the Queen’s younger sister, which makes him 29th in line to the throne.

But the young royal is so excited to become a Marine that he’s even been training for training.

“Arthur has even been going off into the wilds at Balmoral with all his kit and camping out as he prepares for the commando training,” the insider added. “He has gone straight into the officer training in this year’s intake and is very keen and up for it.”

Indeed, he went on multiple 20-mile hikes and camped in the Scottish Highlands while visiting the royal family this month at Balmoral, their holiday home in Scotland.

The monarchic thirst trap, who has made a smoldering name for himself posting pictures of his toned physique to his now-deleted Instagram, is not only confident in his online self-presentation. He and those around him are also reportedly quite confident that, unlike Prince Edward, he’ll successfully complete the training.

“It’s a dead cert he’ll get a lot further than Prince Edward ever did,” the insider said of Chatto, who was previously part of the youngest crew to row around the United Kingdom. He also previously worked as a personal trainer at Scotland’s BoundFitness.

He’s not all brawn, though: While his reputation is mostly for being a royal workout king, Chatto did attend the prestigious Eton College.
